2009 A.D. Following the crash landing of the SDF-1 on Macross Island and the discovery of Robotechnology 10 years earlier, Earth is attacked by an armada of giant aliens.

A giant spaceship headed for earth crash landed
Three quarters of a mile long impact was real strong
Systems still in tack but the flight deck was all gone
