Started the year off with high hopes as usual
Another day outside a cubicle is beautiful
As we know it didn’t quite go as planned
But even for mega ran, it was pretty unusual
A couple weddings, couple funerals
thankful for the positive vibes, the feelings mutual
Holiday season ain’t like when we were young,
Zoom calls to the family cause nobody can come
But, I enjoy getting cards in the mail,
of the fam and the pets hope they all doing well
Though i miss the excitement on the block
I’m taken back when I smell the Cider in the pot
And the scent cicles, that capture all the essence
Of staying up late on the eve wrapping up presents
I Send a blessing to the grown ups to infants
Close up or distant, it’s different this Christmas

We win battles and lose the wars

Another year where I wish I was doing more, but

no matter what we keep moving forward

Man Never had a Xmas where I couldn’t get a hug
My aunties in the kitchen cooking baked macaroni
Or moms cooking gumbo and the whole pot for me
But this season we gon be on FaceTime
Ima make still sure that we all having a great time
Cuz, 2020 was charcoal in the stocking
Craziest part of all couldn’t do nothing to stop it
But keep that smile cuz we still alive
And what’s life if you ain’t dealing with a crazy ride
Maybe my - optimism from the season to be jolly
So in the crib with a smile on my face is where you’ll find me

holiday vibes on the top of my mind,
Finally a few weeks off from dropping them rhymes,
Feels good, vacation’s like hitting the Jack pot
Can Finally knock a couple games off of the the backlog
No emails, or deadlines for me to forget
Plus I Didn’t end the season in debt
Don’t need a whole bunch of gifts,
all I need Is the warmth of togetherness
Any of that other mess is Totally irrelevant
You ain’t got to wealthy to be generous
Joined by God then no man can ever sever this
And I know you heard this simple phrase a lot of ways

This year sucked, but we never give in
